BOEING 737 MAX INTERIOR
Shaken, Not Stirred — A BBJ Interior Unlike Any Other
The best client relationships have a way of evolving beyond the original brief. This project began when an existing yacht client approached the studio with a new challenge entirely — the interior design of his Boeing Business Jet. He had seen what was possible in the yacht world and wanted the same level of design ambition applied to his aircraft. What he didn't want was anything that looked like a typical private jet interior.
The brief was refreshingly clear: comfortable, polished, and relaxed in equal measure. Suitable for serious business but equally at home with family aboard. Something that felt genuinely different from anything else at 40,000 feet.
In one of the earliest design conversations, a reference to the iconic aircraft interior from the 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger landed perfectly — and from that moment the creative direction was set. The result is an interior with a confident mid-century modern sensibility, warm and cinematic in character, but interpreted through a contemporary lens that keeps it from feeling like a period piece.
Boarding through a stylish entry foyer — with a well-appointed head discreetly positioned at the threshold — the first major statement is the bar. Large, diagonally positioned, and impossible to ignore, it anchors the forward cabin with a display of exposed bottles and glassware that doubles as a sculptural focal point. Aft of the bar, a cluster of repositionable VIP seats offers flexible seating for guests who want to be part of the energy of the forward space without committing to a fixed arrangement.
The central lounge beyond is anchored by a unique curved divan flanked by two wingback-inspired lounge chairs — a space that feels as inviting as it does sophisticated. A dining and conference table follows, serving double duty as an elegant setting for a meal or a serious working environment depending on the demands of the trip. The galley, meanwhile, is entirely hidden from view, preserving the residential quality of the interior without sacrificing function.
Moving aft, a flexible guest stateroom adapts to the needs of each journey, and at the rear of the aircraft an owner's suite with private ensuite provides a genuine sanctuary at altitude.
Throughout, the design holds to the original promise — polished without being stiff, relaxed without sacrificing elegance. A jet interior that feels, above all, like a very well-designed room.
